It’s a great big world out there in cyberspace. Here
are a few science fiction and horror-related links to help you find your
way:
My Publishers
Golden
Gryphon Press:
Since its founding by former
Arkham House editor Jim Turner in 1997, Golden Gryphon has been
publishing a series of hardcover short story collections ranging across
the spectrum of science fiction, fantasy, and horror. After Jim’s
untimely death, Gary Turner, his brother, took over as editor and
publisher. Under Gary’s guidance, the excellence of the fiction between
Golden Gryphon’s covers has been matched only by the quality of the
packaging. These archival-quality books invariably feature beautiful
wraparound dust-jacket art by the finest artists in the field. If
you’re a booklover, you owe it to yourself to check out Golden Gryphon
Press. Visit their site:

Signet Books
Both of my novels have been
published in mass-market paperback by Signet Books, an imprint of the
Penguin Group. The quality of my experience at Signet--ranging from
editorial advice to cover art to distribution--has been uniformly high.

The
Science Fiction Magazines
The magazines have provided a
forUm for fresh talent in the genre for decades. I got my start
publishing short stories in The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction;
countless other writers have had the same experience. If you want a
peek at what science fiction, horror, and fantasy might look like ten
years from now, read the magazines today.
Unfortunately, with
subscriptions and distribution falling, most of them are hurting. If
you love good writing, do your part. Check them out on the web and

Science
Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Online
Fiction
There’s lots of original
science fiction, fantasy, and horror online--some of it quite
excellent. Perhaps the best site is Sci Fiction, the fiction component
of the SciFi Network’s homepage, edited by Ellen Datlow, the horror half
of the editorial team responsible for The Year’s Best Fantasy & Horror
and the former fiction editor at Omni. Another good site is The
Infinite Matrix, edited by science fiction writer Eileen Gunn. Check

People You Should Read
The following list is not
all-inclusive by any means--writers tend to be luddites, alas, and many
of my favorites simply don’t have a presence online. Among those that
do, here are a few you should definitely check out. Some of them are
friends, and some of them I’ve never met. But you can depend on all of
them for a good story well told. Enjoy:
